Keel Lifting Fittings

The keel lifting fittings are positioned and the fastening points drilled. The holes are then drilled to a diameter of 10 mm and are poured with epoxy. After curing, the holes for the fastening screws are drilled to their nominal diameter.

Paint Preparation

After applying the 3rd layer of EPIFANES Epoxy-HB-Coat some points of uneveness were still visible. I hope that the surface is ready for finish painting after re-filling and a last layer of PU primer.

Toe Rail

The toe rail is made of teak profile

 



First I built a drilling template with bores positioned in such a way that at no position a hole meets a bulkhead under deck.



Each toe rail I fastened by four 4 mm x 35 mm woodscrews from inside. To bend the toe rails bores above the deck-bores I used a tension belt.

Rudder Gudgeon

For a long time I was looking for suitable Gudgeons - unsuccessful. Now my patience was at an end. I took a piece of aluminum and built them myself within fife hours.

Portlights Mounted

I decided for Lewmar stainless steel portlights of size 1 (191 mm x 367 mm). Both aft portlights are of fixed, the fore portlights of opening type.
