Ready for Launching

After mounting the bulb slabs to the keel fin and and a stopper to the trailer the boat is ready for launching.

The weight of the lead bulb is now 240 kg and its rightning moment 560 kgm.
 

Complications in the Assembly of the Lead Slabs

I casted another two lead slabs to increase the stability of the boat. When screwing to the keel fin, it turned out that the thread bolts are a bit too short.
I had feared that, but I hoped it would be close enough.

To overcome the problem I had to make a set of thread extensions from brass.

New Motor Jacker Installed

Provisional support for the motor shaft

During the first test drives last year turns out that the Motor mount bracket was to weak. The 500 mm long plank of 22 mm thickness which has been used as mount bracket, twisted dangerously already at 2 kW motor power.

Antifouling

Last year I tried to find out what is happen if the underwater hull is not antifouling coated. The result is showed in the post of November 11th.

On the first test drives last year I learned that a midships cleat makes docking much easier. That's why I've retrofitted one now.
