I have long resisted drilling a hole through the hull. But after some ground contacts it seams meaningful to me to install a depth sounder.

Ich komme wohl etwas zu spaet mit meinem Hinweis.
ReplyDeleteIch habe in meinem Hawaiian outrigger sailing canoe auch einen Transponder eingebaut, allerdings innen.
Der Trick ist, ein Well darumzubauen, das mit Wasser gefuellt ist. Die Tiefenangaben waren immer korrekt. Der Schall ist also von Wasser, Rumpf: strip planking 6mm mit zweisietigen fiberglass ohne Abweichung durchgegengen. Werde ich beim neuen Projekt wieder so machen.
Das habe ich anfangs auch versucht. Allerdings ist Sperrholz zu "luftig" um den Schall durchzuleiten.
